This painting is a truly in-between art work- it represents a kind of missing link- as I move from one series to another, there’s often 1 or 2 transition works- partly related to the preceding series but not fully fitting into either. This piece is more still life than abrstraction but i love the colours and the feeling of relinquishing straight representation - that’s what i feel when i look at the work. it’s also a kind-of portrait of my favourite little maquette/studio piece.
