This work represents the first final version of the Else series which was shown in 2024 as part of rightNOW, a group show curated but Onespace Gallery in Brisbane.

It’s the first painting i completed after having my kid. I used to set a 60 minute timer and get in to the studio first thing in the morning . It didn’t matter if i was cleaning or drawing or making a collage, as long as i could get in the studio.doing so felt like a lifeline at the time. i started making tiny paper constructions which i then photographed and eventually i used parts of those photographs to compose paintings.

This work was selected as a finalist for the Redland Art Awards in 2024.
