Made in 2021 as a study for Background Tabs in Parallax, this work represents a time when I was exploring the limits of representation in my practice. I was trying to reconcile the 3 dimensional illusion implicit to representational painting with the flatness of the painted pictorial plane; pieces of paper dissolve into scribbled paint. This work has a neon orange underpainting - i love the way it makes the shapes appear to glow from within.

This was made in a series of 4- the others are available in this studio sale.

This work is ready to hang and sealed with an acrylic sealant on the back.
